Words, and Quiet...in Ahmet's House Tonight

Tonight, let's play with the power of the songs with no words...I'm setting up a whole show with only one song having lyrics. It's always an experiment here in this great house. Let's see how this goes...why not? What does the great Atlantic catalog say when it doesn't "say" anything at all?

Silent as...

Independence...

On this Fourth of July weekend in the US, I'm thinking about freedom and independence. In art, in music, freedom is essential. Perhaps what Ahmet and Atlantic did best, and more, was to create the atmosphere where artistic freedom could live and breath. For that, we are thankful on this day...in Ahmet's House.

In Memoriam: Miriam Bienstock

Tonight's show is dedicated to "the money man" of Atlantic records...who in 1947 was an unusual  woman of business...fierce, tenacious...Miriam Abramson Bienstock.
